The NI Dynamic Positioning Operator Scheme Changes

The Nautical Institute has made amendments to the Dynamic Positioning Operator Certification Scheme in their January 2012 revision. As of 1 January 2012 the entry qualifications into the scheme have been tightened to now only available to deck officers holding STCW II/1, II/2, II/3 certificates and engineers holding STCW III/1, III/2, III/3 certificates.

On 9 December 2011, the Farstad Shipping Offshore Simulation centre was officially opening by His Excellency, Mr Jens Stoltenberg, Prime Minister of Norway. Also attending was The Honourable Peter Collier, Western Australian Minister for Training and Workforce Development, Energy and Indigenous Affairs, Her Excellency Mrs Siren Gjerme Eriksen, Norwegian Ambassador to Australia and His Excellency, Mr James Choi, Australian Ambassador to Norway.


DP Accreditation

Our DP facilities and DP training Scheme courses have been officially accredited by The Nautical Institute. We are pleased to be able to offer DP Induction (Basic) and DP Simulator (Advanced) courses to prospective DPOs.

Our facilities, including a Kongsberg K-Pos advanced trainer with Polaris visuals and the first Rolls Royce Icon advanced trainer in the world.

DP Operator Certificate Applications
